It is the largest island of a small, circular archipelago formed by the Santorini caldera. It is the southernmost member of the Cyclades group of islands, with an area of approximately 73 km 2 (28 sq mi) and a 2021 census population of 15,480.
Oia is a scenic village on the north west edge of the Santorini island within the Cyclades. It extends for almost two kilometres ( 1 + 1 ⁄ 4 mi) along the northern edge of the caldera that forms the island of Santorini, at a height of between 70 and 100 metres (230 and 330 ft) above sea level .
