Saxe-Meiningen (/ ˌ s æ k s ˈ m aɪ n ɪ ŋ ən / SAKS MY-ning-ən; German: Sachsen-Meiningen [ˌzaksn̩ ˈmaɪnɪŋən]) was one of the Saxon duchies held by the Ernestine line of the House of Wettin, located in the southwest of the present-day German state of Thuringia.

12 de abr. de 2024 · Saxe-Meiningen was one of the Saxon duchies held by the Ernestine line, located in the southwest of the present-day German state of Thuringia. It was established in 1681, by partition of the duchy of Saxe-Gotha among the seven sons of deceased Duke Ernst der Fromme.
Saxe-Meiningen (săks-mīn´Ĭng-ən), Ger. Sachsen-Meiningen, former duchy, Thuringia, central Germany. The capital was Meiningen. A possession of the Ernestine branch of the house of Wettin, it became a separate duchy in 1681 under Bernard, third son of Ernest the Pious of Saxe-Gotha.
