Life. Emma was one of the four daughters of the prince Victor II, Prince of Anhalt-Bernburg-Schaumburg-Hoym (1767–1812) from his marriage to Amelia of Nassau-Weilburg (1776–1841), daughter of Charles Christian, Prince of Nassau-Weilburg. She grew up together with her sisters in Hoym in Anhalt and was carefully educated.

Princess Ida, born on 10 March 1804 at Schaumburg Castle, was the fourth and youngest daughter of Victor II, Prince of Anhalt-Bernburg-Schaumburg-Hoym, and of Princess Amelia of Nassau-Weilburg. In Weilburg on 29 October 1793, Victor Karl Frederick married Princess Amelia of Nassau-Weilburg, then of Nassau (b. Kirchheimbolanden , 7 August 1776 - d. Schaumburg , 19 February 1841), daughter of Charles Christian, Prince of Nassau-Weilburg , and through her mother, Princess Carolina , [1] [ better source needed ] a great-granddaughter of King George II of Great Britain .
