Nicholas Carew (died 1311), Lord of Moulsford, was a baron of medieval England who took part in the Wars of Scottish Independence . He was feudal lord of Carew Castle in Pembrokeshire, feudal lord of Odrone [2] (mod. Idrone, County Carlow) [3] in Ireland and lord of the manor of Moulsford in Berkshire (since 1974 in Oxfordshire), was a soldier.
Hace 3 días · Nicholas Carew. In the chapel of St Nicholas in Westminster Abbey is an altar tomb of Purbeck marble to Nicholas, Baron Carew. It is placed against the wall under the monument to Lady Fane. There is no longer any inscription and the three shields have gone. In a guidebook to the Abbey of 1600 the inscription is given and this can be translated:

8 de mar. de 2018 · Sir Nicholas Carew was a boyhood friend of Henry’s; he was also instrumental in helping Jane supplant Anne Boleyn. He was executed for his part in the Exeter Conspiracy, which was intended to replace Henry with a Catholic alternative, though the conspiracy was somewhat half-baked and Carew’s participation was somewhat questionable.
