Margaret Stuart was born in 1150, in Moidart, Inverness-shire, Scotland as the daughter of Muchdanach of Moidart and Mrs Muchdanach of Moidart. She married Dubgall MacSolmerled about 1162, in Argyll, Scotland. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 2 daughters. She died in 1207, in her hometown, at the age of 57, and was buried in Scotland.
