8 de abr. de 2023 · Wilton Felder was an American saxophonist, bassist, and songwriter who gained fame as a member of the jazz-funk band The Crusaders. He was born on August 31, 1940, in Houston, Texas. Felder started his musical journey as a child by learning to play the piano, but later he switched to the saxophone, which became his main instrument.
Wilton Felder spent over 30 years with the group known as the Jazz Crusaders (and later the Crusaders). In the mid-’50s while in high school in Houston, Felder, Joe Sample, and Stix Hooper became the founding members of the group which soon picked up Wayne Henderson as an additional member.
