Claude Louis Hector de Villars, född 8 maj 1653, död 17 juni 1734, var en fransk militär, marskalk och senare generalmarskalk. Han deltog i det pfalziska tronföljdskriget och var även Frankrikes ambassadör i Wien. [9] Hans mest kända insatser kom dock under spanska tronföljdskriget, då han vann slagen vid Friedlingen och Höchstädt.
Claude Louis Hector de Villars, príncep de Martigues, marquès i duc de Villars i vescomte de Melun (8 de maig de 1653 - 17 de juny de 1734) fou l'últim gran general de Lluís XIV de França i un dels comandants més brillants de la història militar francesa: va ser un dels sis mariscals de França que s'han promogut al grau de Mariscal General de França.
Après de brillantes études au collège de Moulins, Louis-Hector, marquis de Villars, entre aux pages de la Grande Écurie en 1670, puis aux mousquetaires en 1671. Il servit comme aide de camp du maréchal de Bellefonds et suivit le Roi au siège d'Orsoy. Il se trouva aux sièges de Zutphen, Crèvecœur et Doesbourg.
