Mountbatten introdujo el deporte en la Royal Navy en la década de 1920 y escribió un libro sobre la materia. También fue comodoro en el Club de Vela de Emsworth ( Hampshire) desde 1931.

13 de jun. de 2017 · Patricia, 2nd Countess Mountbatten of Burma - Mountbatten's eldest daughter, died aged 93yrs on 13th June 2017 at her home - 'Newhouse' in Mersham, near Ashford, Kent. Her god-son - Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales (b.1948) said that Patricia "played an extremely important part in his life" and "would miss her presence most dreadfully” .

In 1941, The Mountbattens visited the USA - Mountbatten as Captain of the aircraft carrier HMS Illustrious and Edwina was there on behalf of the British Red Cross and St John’s Ambulance Brigade to thank those who had raised over £5 million for the cause.

14 de jun. de 2017 · “Patricia Mountbatten died peacefully on Tuesday 13th June at her home in Mersham, Kent, surrounded by her children. Her husband, the celebrated film producer Lord Brabourne, died in 2005.
