14 de jul. de 2012 · José Moscardó Ituarte nació en Madrid el 26 de enero de 1876. Su primera campaña fue la de Filipinas, y más tarde estuvo en Marruecos donde participó en diversos combates. En 1929 fue ascendido a Coronel y se le nombró Director del Colegio de Huérfanos de Infantería, en Toledo. En 1931, Azaña como ministro de Guerra, anuló su ascenso.
José Moscardó Ituarte fue un militar español. Como militar más caracterizado de los sublevados en Toledo durante el golpe de Estado de julio de 1936, alcanzó celebridad por su defensa del alcázar de Toledo frente al asedio de las fuerzas gubernamentales durante los primeros meses de la guerra civil española.
