Dopo essere entrato nel convento dell’Ordine dei Canonici Lateranensi a Bergamo e aver studiato a Padova immergendosi nella filosofia aristotelica e nella teologia scolastica, venne mandato nel 1541 al convento di S. Frediano di Lucca per esercitare il ruolo di predicatore.
