He is most acclaimed as a master of Neo-Impressionism and he played an important role in shaping the second phase of that movement. Two years later, he moved to Paris and devoted himself to painting in Francis Bonvin's studio. Henri Edmond Cross regularly exhibited at the Paris Salon.
