Hace 6 días · In 1618, Cavendish married Elizabeth Howard (1599–1643), with whom he had five children – Jane (1621–1669), Charles (1626–1659), Elizabeth (1626–1663), Henry, 2nd Duke of Newcastle (1630–1691), and Frances. Encouraged by their father, Jane and Elizabeth became minor poets and writers.
Henry Pelham Fiennes Pelham-Clinton, 4th Duke of Newcastle-under-Lyne KG (31 January 1785 – 12 January 1851) was a British nobleman and politician who played a leading part in British politics in the late 1820s and early 1830s. He was styled Lord Clinton from birth until 1794 and Earl of Lincoln between 1794 and 1795.

30 de abr. de 2022 · On 3 November 1620 Cavendish became Viscount Mansfield and on 7 March 1628 Earl of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. In 1629 he inherited his mother's barony of Ogle, together with an estate of £3,000 per annum. In 1638 he became governor of Charles, Prince of Wales, and in 1639 a Privy Counsellor.
1 de nov. de 2015 · Elizabeth Basset was the daughter of William Basset and Judith Austin. 1,2 She married, firstly, Henry Howard, son of Thomas Howard, 1st Earl of Suffolk and Katherine Knyvett. 3 She married, secondly, William Cavendish, 1st Duke of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, son of Sir Charles Cavendish and Catherine Ogle, Baroness Ogle, circa 1618. 3 She died on 17 April 1643. 3
Henry Pelham Fiennes Pelham Clinton, 5th duke of Newcastle (1811-1864), the eldest son of Henry, the 4th duke, was educated at Eton and at Christ Church, Oxford, where he graduated in 1832. He was member of parliament for South Nottinghamshire from 1832 to 1846, when he became member for the Falkirk Burghs, retaining this seat until he became duke of Newcastle in January 1851.
