6 de dic. de 2020 · I’m not saying Joan Lady of Wales is perfect, but in placing Joan in her rightful place in history with as much nuance as possible it is a fascinating and I think important work. I have not set out to tell the story of Joan’s life in this review, Messer has done this much better than I can manage, but if you want to know more I’d highly recommend reading the book.

It is, quite simply, a beautifully-executed, fascinating and addictive read. Joan, Lady of Wales is available in hardback from Pen &Sword and Amazon.
Joan also has a cenotaph, memorial 57522235 Known as Joan of Wales, Joan of England, Princess of Wales and Lady of Snowdon, or Siwan, her Welsh name. Granddaughter of King Henry II of England and Eleanor of Aquitaine.
Joan, Lady of Wales and Lady of Snowdon, also known by her Welsh name often written as Siwan (c. 1191/92 – February 1237) was the illegitimate daughter of King John of England, and became the wife of Llywelyn the Great, Prince of Wales (initially King of Gwynedd), effective ruler of all of Wales.
