Bergen-Belsen, the largest displaced persons (DP) camp in Germany, was the center of Jewish DP political and social activity in the British zone of occupation. As home of the most prominent and vocal community in the “She'erit Ha-Peletah” (The Surviving Remnant ), Bergen-Belsen DP camp became synonymous with the plight of the Jewish DPs in their conflict with the British.

Bergen-Belsen, Nazi German concentration camp near the villages of Bergen and Belsen, about 10 miles (16 km) northwest of Celle, Germany. It was established in 1943 on part of the site of a prisoner-of-war camp and was originally intended as a detention camp for Jews who were to be exchanged for Germans in Allied territory.
Bergen Belsen está ubicado a unos 15 kilómetros de la localidad de Celle (Alemania) y debe su nombre a que se encuentra entre las poblaciones de Bergen y Belsen. Fue levantado en 1936 para albergar a unos 3.000 trabajadores que habían de construir los cuarteles de Bergen dedicados a la formación de fuerzas motorizadas acorazadas.

Bergen-Belsen był nazistowskim obozem koncentracyjnym w Dolnej Saksonii w Niemczech, około 65 km od Hanoweru.
