In 1975, Congress passed legislation allowing women to enroll at the federal service academies. The following summer, 119 women arrived at West Point for Cadet Basic Training as part of the Class of 1980. Four years later, 62 women graduated, with Andrea Hollen, a Rhodes Scholar, as the first woman to graduate from the Academy.
