Vladimir Yevgraphovich Tatlin (Владимир Евграфович Татлин) was a Soviet painter, architect and stage-designer. Tatlin achieved fame as the architect who designed The Monument to the Third International, more commonly known as Tatlin's Tower, which he began in 1919.

Tatlin attended the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture from 1902-1903 and the Penza School of Art from 1904-1910. He served in the Imperial Navy from 1902 to 1906. He taught at the State Free Art Studios (SVOMAS) in Moscow from 1918-1920 and was the head of the Studio of Volume, Material and Construction at SVOMAS in Petrograd from 1919-1924.
Tatlin achieved fame as the architect who designed The Monument to the Third International, more commonly known as Tatlin's Tower, which he began in 1919. With Kazimir Malevich he was one of the two most important figures in the Soviet avant-garde art movement of the 1920s, and he later became an important artist in the constructivist movement.
