Downe House day girls enjoy the same extensive benefits as the boarding girls, but they return home at the end of each day. There are additional charges for ‘Extras’ including music (instrumental and voice), Speech and Drama, individual language, dance, tennis and squash lessons, as well as some optional extra-curricular activities that girls are able to sign up for.
Girls joining Downe House aged 13+ will move into one of our five Upper School Houses alongside the current pupils who have progressed through the Lower School. These Houses act as the anchor House for each girl’s entire time at Downe House; girls in all year groups compete for and support their attached Upper School Houses.
On formal acceptance of the offer (payment of deposit and signed acceptance), Downe House Riyadh will welcome you, and enrol your child as a new pupil. This then leads to a series of events and processes to initiate and integrate each pupil and their parents into the wider Downe House family, as preparation for a smooth transition and a positive start at the school.
Downe House has been a Microsoft Showcase School since 2018. Downe House honours an exceptional programme to nurture global citizens and expands the pupils’ cultural horizons. Every pupil in the Lower Fourth (Year 8) spends a term at our school in France, Downe House Sauveterre, a beautiful chateau that allows the students to experience French life, language and culture.
