Countess Palatine Hedwig Elisabeth of Neuburg. Hedwig Elisabeth of Neuburg ( Polish: Jadwiga Elżbieta Amalia Sobieska; 18 July 1673 – 10 August 1722) was a Polish princess by marriage to James Louis Sobieski. She was the daughter of Philip William, Duke of Neuburg and Landgravine Elisabeth Amalie of Hesse-Darmstadt .
Born in Neuburg, Oberbayern, Beieren on 13 October 1576 to Philip Ludwig (Louis) Wittelsbach, Count of Palatine of Neuberg and Anna van Gulik Kleef en Berg. Countess Palatine Dorothea Sabine of Neuburg married Edward II Farnese, Grand Duke of Parma-Farnese and had 1 child. She passed away on 12 December 1598 in Neuburg, Oberbayern, Beieren.
The green taffeta underskirt is decorated with silver lace. The materials alone show that this garment was worn by a princess; other women were forbidden to wear such precious clothing. Dorothea Sabina of Palatinate-Neuburg died at the age of only 21 and was buried in this gown.
