Andrew Stewart, 2nd Lord Ochiltree (c. 1521–1591) fought for the Scottish Reformation. His daughter married John Knox and he played a part in the defeat of Mary, Queen of Scots at the battle of Langside.
Family. Andrew married Margaret Hamilton, a daughter of James Hamilton, 1st Earl of Arran, [7] Their children included: Andrew Stewart, 2nd Lord Ochiltree, father of Margaret who married John Knox. James Stewart, Earl of Arran, soldier and politician who dominated Scottish politics after the Ruthven regime until his fall in 1585.

Margaret, second daughter of the second Lord Ochiltree, married John Knox. His brother Henry Stewart married Margaret Tudor, widow of James IV and was created Baron Methven, another brother, Sir James Stewart of Beath was ancestor of the Stewarts Earls of Moray through his son James, Lord Doune.
4 de abr. de 2023 · Andrew Stewart, 2nd Lord Stewart of Ochiltree was born after 1521. He was the son of Andrew Stewart, 1st Lord Stewart of Ochiltree and Margaret Hamilton.2 He married Agnes Cunningham, daughter of John Cunningham, 5th of Capringtoun, before 27 October 1549.
Margaret Stewart was called the "Mistress of Ochiltree" after she married Andrew Stewart, Master of Ochiltree in 1567, eldest son of Andrew Stewart, 2nd Lord Ochiltree and Agnes Cunningham. After his death in 1578 she married Uchtred Macdowall of Garthland, but was still called, and signed her name, "Margaret, Mistress of Ochiltree".
