Bo Diddley, född Ellas Otha Bates den 30 december 1928 i McComb, Mississippi, död 2 juni 2008 i Archer i Alachua County, Florida, var en amerikansk rockmusiker. Diddley föddes i Mississippi, av en sextonårig mor som överlät sonens uppfostran till sin kusin, Gussie McDaniel, och när Ellas McDaniel/Bates var sju år gammal flyttade de båda till Chicago där Ellas McDaniel växte upp.
Bo Diddley falleció el 2 de junio de 2008 en su residencia de Archer, Florida a consecuencia de un fallo cardíaco. Bo Diddley (December 30, 1928-June 2, 2008), born Ellas Otha Bates, was an original and influential American rock & roll singer, guitarist and songwriter. He was known as "The Originator" because of the key role in the transition from blues music to rock & roll, influencing a host of legendary acts including Buddy Holly, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and The Rolling Stones to name a few.
