The Counts of Dreux were a noble family of France, who took their title from the chief stronghold of their domain, the château of Dreux, which lies near the boundary between Normandy and the Île-de-France. They are notable for inheriting the Duchy of Brittany through Pierre de Dreux 's marriage to Alix de Thouars in the early 13th century.

Pierre Mauclerc (c. 1190– 6 July 1250), also known as Peter of Dreux or Pierre de Dreux, was duke of Brittany (in right of his wife) from 1213 to 1221, then regent of the duchy (for his minor son) from 1221 to 1237. He was the second son of Robert II, Count of Dreux.

She was the twin sister of Katherine, Dame de Vitrem, and half sister to Arthur and Eleanor of Brittany, pawns in the political upheaval during King John's reign, held at Corfe Castle until their deaths.
