  1. A 16th-century quillon dagger. Forward-facing quillons are typical of left-handed daggers. More specialized daggers developed with the increase in dueling combats through the 16th century. This was fed, in turn, by an increasing number of fencing schools and all manner of fighting styles and opinions on weapons.
