8 de abr. de 2014 · James Scott, Earl of Dalkeith (1674–1705), married Lady Henrietta Hyde, daughter of Laurence Hyde, 1st Earl of Rochester and had six children including Francis Scott, 2nd Duke of Buccleuch. Laurence Hyde was the brother of Anne Hyde, Duchess of York , wife of James, Duke of York and Albany , later James VII of Scotland, II of England.
When James Scott was born on 14 January 1702, his father, James Scott Earl of Dalkeith, was 27 and his mother, Lady Henrietta Hyde Scott, was 26. He died on 26 February 1719, at the age of 17.

The marriage between the fourteen-year-old Monmouth and Anne, who was just twelve years old, took place on 20 April 1663: the following day, they were jointly made Duke and Duchess of Buccleuch, with Monmouth also taking the titles of Earl of Dalkeith and Lord Scott of Whitchester and Eskdale.
