Order Oil Paintingreproduction. Nandalal Bose (Nondo-lal Boshū) (3 December 1882 – 16 April 1966) was one of the pioneers of modern Indian art and a key figure of Contextual Modernism. A pupil of Abanindranath Tagore, Bose was known for his "Indian style" of painting. He became the principal of Kala Bhavan, Santiniketan in 1922.
Sher-Gil’s visual language introduced a host of new elements in modern Indian art. For one, her handling of the oil medium opened up new possibilities for a future generation of artists. Her distinctive vision left its mark on pre-Independence modern painting. Her female forms demanded attention. They were both sensuous and vulnerable.

She has been called “one of the greatest avant-garde women artists of the early 20th century” and a “pioneer” in modern Indian art.
Collection: National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi. Amrita Shergil՚s appearance is an incredible occasion throughout the entire existence of contemporary twentieth century workmanship in India. Conceived in 1913, her folks were Sardar Umrao Singh Shergil and Lady Antoinette, a Hungarian national.
