Congratulations to I Davenport-Thomas and Ben Stokes who have been appointed as Joint Heads of College, and to Sophie Pendlebury and James Lucking who have been appointed as Deputy Heads of College. Speaking after the appointments, I Davenport-Thomas says:

Shiplake College is an independent co-educational boarding and day school for nearly 520 pupils aged 11–18, based in the Oxfordshire countryside on the banks of the River Thames. There has been a co-educational Sixth Form since 1998 and in September 2023, girls joined in Year 7 (making up 42% of the cohort) as the College goes fully co-educational.
21 de jun. de 2023 · There were former Shiplake Headmasters, Olympians, and even the first Shiplake boys to win Henley (as a combined crew) were present. Old Vikings, some of whom were in their 80s and 90s, attended while others travelled from all over the world: France, America and Canada to come and celebrate the Boat Club.
Based in the College’s reception building, when not sleeping under the Headmaster’s desk, Simba can be found ensuring the floors are free of biscuit crumbs – a role he takes very seriously. A fond favourite amongst pupils and staff, Simba is also a great assistant to our School receptionists, ensuring all visitors and guests are greeted enthusiastically and made to feel at home.
