Oscar Emmanuel Peterson, CC, CQ, O.Ont. ( 15. srpna 1925, Montreal, Québec – 23. prosince 2007 Mississauga, Ontario) byl kanadský jazzový pianista a skladatel, některými kritiky pokládán za jednoho z nejlepších pianistů všech dob ( Scott Yanow, 2004). Oscar Peterson Plays Duke Ellington is an album by Canadian jazz pianist Oscar Peterson, of songs associated with Duke Ellington released in 1952 on Clef Records. Peterson re-recorded much of the music for his 1959 album Oscar Peterson Plays the Duke Ellington Song book.

9 de dic. de 2006 · This CD combines two LPs devoted to the same Duke Ellington material recorded by different versions of the Oscar Peterson trio. The first is of particular interest. Dating from 1952, it was a special event, exploiting the then-new LP format to include a dozen of Ellington's most familiar tunes and featuring a superb band.
