Benenden’s academic programme aims to encourage a lifelong enthusiasm for learning and discovery. With a broad spectrum of expertly taught subjects available to study right the way across the School, there are plenty of opportunities for students to explore their passions and interests while continuously discovering new avenues.
Benenden School is an independent day and boarding school for girls, founded in 1923 and situated in 250 acres of beautiful parkland in rural Kent. At present, there are 560 girls in the School. A considerable amount of new building has been completed in recent years, including an All-Weather Pitch, Staff Housing and a new School Hall and Music School.
Benenden students are celebrating a strong set of results, including one student who achieved a total of seven grades at A*. Nationally, this year group faced a particularly challenging environment. The recent Opera Takeover workshops – facilitated by the partnership between Benenden School and the English National Opera – culminated in a delightful concert this week. Alongside performances by the ENO, students from local schools joined the Benenden Lower School Choir to showcase everything they'd learned about singing and performing opera for their parents.
Normal entry is in September at 11+, 12+ or 13+, as a result of the ISEB Common Pre-test or through Benenden's own Entrance or Scholarship examinations. In addition, there is also a small 14+ and 16+ competitive entry into Year 10 and the Sixth Form.
She holds a first degree in modern languages and law from Cambridge and an MBA from the University of Bath. .
