John Waldegrave Blyth. 1873 - 1962. Industrialist and art collector. Born into an old Fife family which had built a successful linen manufactory in Kirkcaldy, Blyth joined the family business and was to make his fortune with orders from the military during the First World War. Blyth lived with his family at Wilby House, which he had built in 1909.

9 July 1753, second son of John Waldegrave, 3rd Earl Waldegrave, and Lady Elizabeth Gower; m. 28 Dec. 1785 Cornelia van Lennap in Smyrna (İzmir, Turkey), and they had two sons; d. 20 Aug. 1825 in England. William Waldegrave entered the British navy in 1766, was promoted lieutenant in 1772, and by 1775 had command of his own ship.
When John Waldegrave died in 1840, Frances controversially married his brother, George, the Seventh Earl Waldegrave. He was the grandson and descendent of Horace Walpole’s great niece, Elizabeth Waldegrave, and it was through him that Frances inherited Strawberry Hill, thereby maintaining her link with the house and the title of Countess Waldegrave.
