His career spanned from the 1940s to the 1980s, and his roles ranged from films as iconic as Laurence Olivier's Henry V (1944), to cult TV shows such as the Black Guardian in Doctor Who, to numerous voice acting roles including "The Man in Black" on the long-running BBC Radio show Appointment with Fear.
