Princess Victoria Patricia Helena Elizabeth of Connaught VA CI GCStJ, later Lady Patricia Ramsay, (17 March 1886 – 12 January 1974) was a granddaughter of Queen Victoria. Upon her marriage to Alexander Ramsay, she relinquished her title of a British princess and the style of Royal Highness.
Princess Patricia — "Patsy" to family and friends — was born on 17 March 1886, St Patrick's Day, at Buckingham Palace in London.Her father was Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught and Strathearn, the third son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.
Princess Patricia of Connaught had it all. She was beautiful, intelligent, athletic and artistic. She could have played the traditional role of a princess: dutifully marrying a prince or king in a match acceptable to both families; living a grand, rule-bound life in palaces and castles; and navigating the tumultuous political waves that were soon to crash over most of her relatives in Europe.

14 de jun. de 2017 · The wedding at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle was conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury, assisted by the Bishop of Winchester, the Bishop of Oxford, and the Dean of Windsor. The bride was escorted by her father, The Duke of Connaught, while the groom was supported by his brother Wilhelm and his uncle Eugen.

Alexander Ramsay at Westminster Abbey. The Reville & Rossiter silk gown in the Calgary Military Museums is the only British royal wedding dress housed outside the UK.

Het monument herdenkt de gesneuvelde soldaten van de Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, genoemd naar Princess Patricia of Connaught. De eenheid werd begin 1915 tijdens de aftocht van de Tweede Slag om Ieper zwaar onder vuur genomen door de Duitsers en slechts vier officieren en 150 soldaten overleefden het.
