Princess Alexandra was the youngest child of Friedrich I, Duke of Anhalt and Princess Antoinette of Saxe-Altenburg. After their marriage on 25 January 1897 Princess Alexandra and Prince Sizzo of Schwarzburg lived in Großharthau, and had three children.
