Louis I the Fair, also known as the Wise or the Right (Polish: Ludwik I Sprawiedliwy, Roztropny, or Prawy) or Louis I of Brzeg (Ludwik I brzeski; c. 1321 – 6/23 December 1398), a member of the Silesian Piasts, was a Silesian duke of Legnica from 1342 to 1346 (jointly with his elder brother Wenceslaus I until 1345) and of Brzeg from 1358 until his death.

In 1443, Elisabeth was forced to give Brzeg to Dukes John I of Lüben and Henry X of Chojnów, sons of Louis III of Oława, who had died in 1441. Both brothers claimed the inheritance of Duke Louis II as his lawful male heirs and because Elisabeth retained both Duchies illegally.
Louis Ier est duc de Legnica avec son frère Venceslas Ier de 1342-1345 et (seul) de 1345 à 1346, et duc de Brzeg de 1358 à 1398. Il fut aussi régent de Legnica de 1364-1373. Il était le deuxième fils de Boleslas III le Prodigue, duc de Legnica-Brzeg et de sa première femme, Marguerite de Bohême .
