Red and white have traditionally been used in the coat of arms of Lithuania (Belarusian: Пагоня, romanized: Pahonia), the state heraldry of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and also the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, both of which included lands that are now Belarus. There are several other theories explaining the flag's origin.

Source: Wikipedia The “Pahonia” coat of arms became the state symbol of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the second half of the 14th century, although its first version appeared even earlier.
Then scandals occured with finances and with Pahonia's volunteers, whom Ukraine allegedly wanted to deport to Belarus. The only thing Pahonia was famous for was aerial reconnaissance, but after Pahonia's aerial reconnaissance became part of Kalinouski regiment, Pahonia essentially turned into a small unit under the command of Sikorski, an experienced volunteer of the war in Donbas.
