Seelze’s heart can be found in the railroad. As a small town of about 30,000 residents, the railway is a vital artery that connects Seelze to the rest of the country. Seelze is known for being a “bedroom community” of Hanover. That is, many of Hanover’s workers call Seelze home and commute every day.
In 1902, the company relocated to Seelze. The old company site was transferred to the descendants in the course of the early succession and was finally demolished at the expense of the heirs. [4] All development costs for the future building land contractually concerned the heirs, and the "construction of an ornamental and playground" was therefore dedicated to the benefactor as de Haën Square .

Harenberg is situated approximately 2 km west of the city of Hanover, close to the Bundesstrasse 441. The village lies on a flat landscape behind a hill, from which point there is a far-reaching view around, to Seelze and Hanover, as well as toward the Deister. Harenberg also includes three smaller settlements outside the village.
