3 de mar. de 2017 · Sophia Dorothea of Celle was born on 15 September 1666 as the daughter of George William, Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg and his mistress, Eleonore d’Esmier d’Olbreuse. Her parents officially married in 1676. 1 de sept. de 2023 · Sophia Dorothea of Celle, married her first cousin George Ludwig, aka in 1714 as King George I of England and Ireland, thereby securing additional incomes that would have been outside Salic laws. The marriage of state was arranged primarily as it ensured a healthy annual income and assisted the eventual unification of Hanover and Celle.
