Szczecin ( /ˈ ʂ t͡ʃɛ t͡ɕ in/ Écouter ; en allemand : Stettin/ʃtɛˈtiːn/ Écouter, anciennement Stetin ou Stettin en français 1) est la septième plus grande ville de Pologne, le chef-lieu de la voïvodie de Poméranie-Occidentale ainsi que la troisième plus grande ville portuaire de ce pays.
Der Name Stettin. Stettin findet sich zuerst in Urkunden aus den Jahren 1140 und 1223 wieder, hier wurde die polnische Stadt erstmalig in Urkunden genannt. In Quellen, die aus dem Norden stammen, wird der Name Stettin mit “Burstaborg” übersetzt. Bis in das 19 Jahrhundert hinein wurden verschiedene Schreibweisen für Stettin genutzt.
