Marie Stuart (ofte Maria Stuart; på engelsk Mary, Queen of Scots, født 8. december 1542, død 8. februar 1587) var den sidste uafhængige regerende dronning af Skotland. Hun blev senere dronning af Frankrig som hustru til Frans 2 .
I Storbritannien kallas Maria Stuart populärt för Mary, Queen of Scots (Maria, skottarnas drottning). Maria Stuart var dotter till Jakob V av Skottland och Maria av Guise och blev mor till kung Jakob VI av Skottland (Jakob I av England) i sitt andra äktenskap med sin halvkusin Henry Stuart Darnley.
Mary Queen of Scots was held prisoner on the orders of Queen Elizabeth I of England between May 1568 and her execution on the 8th of February 1587. During that time, Mary Stuart was held in numerous different residences. She was always a focus for Catholic uprisings so moving her from location to location made perfect sense.
