Adolphus FitzGeorge entered the Royal Navy in March 1859. He became sub-lieutenant in 1865 and a lieutenant in the following year. In June 1867 he joined the Galatea, screw frigate, commanded by Captain the Duke of Edinburgh, and in March 1872 was appointed Flag Lieutenant to Admiral Sir Rodney Mundy, Commander-in-Chief, Portsmouth.
George FitzGeorge. Colonel George William Adolphus FitzGeorge (24 August 1843 London - 2 September 1907 Lucerne) was the eldest of three sons of the morganatic marriage which the 2nd Duke of Cambridge contracted with Miss Louisa Fairbrother, the actress, the other sons being Admiral Sir Adolphus FitzGeorge and Colonel Sir Augustus FitzGeorge.
FitzGeorge Hamilton had an unnamed sister who was born and died on 5 May 1902. For his older brother Admiral Sir Adolphus FitzGeorge RN was very rich through his marriage with the daughter of the late Thomas Holden, while the eldest brother, the late Colonel George FitzGeorge, owing to the amount already spent by his father in extricating him from one financial difficulty after another, was excluded. Robert Victor FitzGeorge-Balfour (b. 1951), an investment banker who married Patricia Anne Christiana Rowntree, a daughter of Charles William Rowntree, in 1976. [2] FitzGeorge-Balfour died on 28 December 1994 at West Chiltington, West Sussex. He was buried on 4 January 1995 at Findon Crematorium, Worthing, West Sussex.
