James Stuart, 3rd Earl of Moray (1581 / 6 August 1638) was the son of James Stewart, 2nd Earl of Moray and Elizabeth Stuart, 2nd Countess of Moray. He married Lady Anne Gordon, daughter of George Gordon, 1st Marquess of Huntly and Lady Henrietta Stuart, on 2 October 1607 (contract).
Elizabeth Stewart, 2nd Countess of Moray suo jure (Late 1565 – 18 November 1591), was the daughter of James Stewart, 1st Earl of Moray and Agnes Keith. She was born at St Andrews while her father was in exile in England following the Chaseabout Raid, a rebellion against Mary, Queen of Scots. She died in childbirth in 1591.
James Stuart, 3rd Earl of Moray, was born circa 1581 to James Stewart, 2nd Lord Doune (bef1565-1592) and Elizabeth Stuart, 2nd Countess of Moray (c1565-1591) and died 6 August 1638 of unspecified causes. He married Anne Gordon (bef1597-) 2 October 1607 .
Patrick Stewart, 2nd Earl of Orkney lived from 1569 to 6 February 1615. The son of Robert Stewart, 1st Earl of Orkney, Patrick adopted his father's tyrannical approach to governing the islands: though unlike his father he took his political manoeuvreing a step too far, losing his head in the process, and bringing to an end the short and brutal Stewart dynasty on Orkney and Shetland.
