George Canning (født 11. april 1770, død 8. august 1827) var en britisk politiker kjent for sin liberale politikk som utenriksminister ( 1807 – 1809, 1822 – 1827 ), og som statsminister i fire måneder i 1827. Han representerte Tory.
Canning se retire en 1809 après un duel avec lord Robert Stewart Castlereagh, son collègue au gouvernement. Il sera cependant encore ambassadeur au Portugal en 1814 , puis à nouveau ministre des Affaires étrangères du Royaume-Uni de 1822 à 1827, après le suicide de Castlereagh.

19 de jun. de 2024 · George Canning was born in London on 11th April 1770, a son of George (d.1771) and his wife Mary Ann (Costello), both of whom were Irish. Due to his father’s early death he was taken into the household of his uncle Stratford and educated at Eton College and Christ Church, Oxford.

In Antwerp, the London policemen beat the USA, Belgium and Holland in two straight pulls and the British victory occupied, in total, less than two and a half minutes. Canning resigned from the police force in December 1935.
