4 de mar. de 2022 · Eleanor was born on June 18, 1318 in the royal manor of Woodstock, the daughter of King Edward II of England and Queen Isabella of France. She was named after Edward’s mother, Queen Eleanor of Castile. Pleased with the birth of his daughter, the king spent £333 for a feast to celebrate Isabella’s churching.
Mary of Woodstock (11 March 1278 – before 8 July 1332) was the seventh named daughter of Edward I of England and Eleanor of Castile. She was a nun at Amesbury Priory , but lived very comfortably thanks to a generous allowance from her parents.

Her mother was Joan Fitzalan, daughter of Richard Fitzalan, 10th Earl of Arundel and his second wife Eleanor of Lancaster. In 1376 she was married to Thomas of Woodstock, 1st Duke of Gloucester.

7 de may. de 2023 · Joan’s only sister, Eleanor of Woodstock, born in 1318, was only 3 years older than her baby sister and would go on to marry Reginald II, Count of Guelders. Joan also had an illegitimate brother, Adam FitzRoy, a son of Edward II by an unknown woman. He was born in the early 1300s, but died whilst campaigning in Scotland with his father, in 1322.
