19 de may. de 2024 · Born on 19 May 1744, Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz was the youngest daughter of Duke Charles Louis Frederick of Mecklenburg, styled as the Prince of Mirow, and Princess Elisabeth Albertine of Saxe-Hildburghausen. The family ruled over Mecklenburg-Strelitz, a small north-German duchy situated in what was then the Holy Roman Empire.

Born in Berlin, Daniel Woge trained under Antoine Pesne (1683–1757) and was later court painter to Adolphus Frederick IV, duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Woge remained in Neustrelitz for the rest of his life and apart from portraits, produced altarpieces and drawings for engravings.Elizabeth Albertina (1713-61) was the eldest daughter of Frederick I, duke of Saxe-Hildburghausen.
On 5 February 1735, Elizabeth was married to Charles Louis Frederick of Mecklenburg-Strelitz (23 February 1707 - 5 June 1752) , the youngest son of Adolf Friedrich II of Mecklenburg-Strelitz and half-brother to Adolf Friedrich III. They became parents to ten children: Christiane, Duchess of Mecklenburg-Strelitz (6 December 1735 - 31 August 1794).
