Sir John de Neville, 3rd Baron Neville fought in the Battle of Neville's Cross on 17 October 1346, where he was a Captain in the division commanded by his father. He was invested as a Knight in April 1360. He succeeded to the title of 3rd Baron Neville, of Raby (E., 1295) on 5 August 1367. He held the office of Joint Ambassador to France in 1368.
