When John Stewart 7th Earl of Galloway was born on 13 March 1736, in Wigtown, Wigtownshire, Scotland, his father, Alexander Stewart 6th Earl of Galloway, was 43 and his mother, Lady Catherine Cochrane, was 27. He married Anne Dashwood on 13 June 1764, in Westminster, Middlesex, England. They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 6 daughters.

26 de abr. de 2022 · Lady Anne died in 1728 and Alexander married Lady Catherine Cochrane, the youngest daughter of the John Cochrane, 4th Earl of Dundonald {see Earl of Dundonald}, in 1729.
