Originally, the school was due to become an academy on 1 April 2018. After being delayed 12 times, the school finally academised – a full year late – on 1 April 2019 and became known as Wath Academy. [14] It immediately became the largest and highest performing school in Maltby Learning Trust.
The Library is open to all year groups at break and lunchtime, and homework club is offered after school from 2.50pm-3.50pm every day. IT and printing facilities are provided. WELCOME FROM THE PRINCIPAL. Mr Ransome, Principal. We are a very popular 11-18 Academy within the Maltby Learning Trust with over 2000 students on roll, including over 400 students in the Sixth Form. We have recently been judged to be outstanding in 4 out of the 5 areas that OFSTED inspect click here.
Mr Ransome was appointed as the new Principal at Wath Academy in September 2020. As Deputy Headteacher at Kingswood Academy, he was responsible for Teaching and Learning, Behaviour, Inclusion and Attendance, and was part of the senior leadership team which led the school from ‘Inadequate’ to ‘Good’, delivering a Progress 8 score of +1.17.
