27 de ene. de 2022 · Princess Théodelinde de Beauharnais Princess Théodelinde de Beauharnais (1814-1857) was the daughter of Eugène de Beauharnais, Duke of Leuchtenberg and Princess Augusta of Bavaria. On February 8, 1841 she married en:Wilhelm, 1st Duke of Urach. Four daughters were born from this marriage: Princess Augusta Eugenie of Urach (1842-1916).
In his attempts link even closer Bavaria and France, Napoleon decided to have Eugène marry Princess Auguste-Amélie of Bavaria, already betrothed to the crown prince Charles de Bade. The Bavarian sovereigns however were to lean more towards the clear advantages of the French alliance. Eugène was officially adopted by Napoleon on 12 January, 1806.
Eugène de Beauharnais. Born in 1781, Eugène de Beauharnais became aide-de-camp to his stepfather Bonaparte in 1797. He served in Egypt and at the Battle of Marengo and pursued a distinguished military career before being named Viceroy of Italy, a daunting task which he fulfilled to the best of his abilities and the relative freedom given to him by the Emperor.
