Played on The Young Ones, a 7" single from 1977 of the English Punk/New wave band The Secret formed in the mid-70's, but was not credited because he left the band before the release; also his pseudonym in that band was "Reggie Mental".
Insofern ist Dave Murray genauso wie Steve Harris als Gründungsmitglied von Iron Maiden zu betrachten. Murray ist Autodidakt und behauptet von sich, das zu spielen, was er fühlt. Besonders in der Live-Darbietung improvisiert er gerne bei seinen Gitarrensoli und zieht den Reiz daraus, dass es mal funktioniert und mal weniger.

Dave Murray is the second longest serving member in the Maiden six pack, from 1980's Iron Maiden through to 2000's Brave New World. You'd have to use a welder to have any chance of getting that cast iron smile of his face, but then, his playing abilities show he has every right to be more than happy with himself.
12 de feb. de 2018 · Dave Murray and the rest of Iron Maiden have been my heroes since about fifth grade (I’m 20 now), and interviewing him was an experience I will never forget. Iron Maiden are the biggest metal band out of England. Formed in the mid-’70s, the band sought to disassociate themselves as much as possible from the burgeoning punk rock community.
