We made a number of records together – 2 with the band Rubisa Patrol, the first one being named after the band. Art and I went on to make a duo record titled We Begin, which explored all the various aspects of our personal experiments. I not only played trumpet, but electronics and synthesizers, and Art not only played piano, but drums as well.

Młody Mark grał na fortepianie, skrzypcach oraz na trąbce. Jak przystało na nastoletniego zdolnego chłopca, grał w orkiestrach: Oakland Symphonies i San Francisco Opera Orchestra. Wtedy też zainteresował się muzyką jazzową oraz rockiem. W latach siedemdziesiątych grał w zespole Rubisa Patrol, współpracował też z Vanem Morrisonem.
