17 de abr. de 2012 · Elihu Root. Elihu Root was born February 15th, 1845 in Clinton, New York. He attended Hamilton College and graduated as valedictorian in 1864. He taught for one year and then attended the Law School of New York University, graduating in 1867. Directly afterwards, he became a prominent lawyer and specialized in corporate affairs.
Food, wives, a place in the sun, freedom from restraint and oppression, wealth of comfort, wealth of luxury, respect, honor, power, control over others, were sought and attained by fighting. Elihu Root was the brilliant lawyer who became US Secretary of War and Secretary of State between 1901 and 1909. He subsequently became a Senator and the first president of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
