Friedrich Gottlieb Klopstock wird in der ersten Hälfte des 18. Jahrhunderts geboren. Er kommt 1724 zur Zeit der Aufklärung zur Welt. Zu seiner Generation gehören etwa Baron Münchhausen (1720–1797) und Johann Friedrich Städel (1728–1816). Seine Kindheit und Jugend erlebt Klopstock in den 1720er- und 1730er-Jahren.

Friedrich Gottlieb Klopstock, having felt such a love for her, mourned and praised her in his elegies. In his later years, he married again, this time to Johanna Elisabeth von Winthem from Hamburg. From 1756 to 1762 Klopstock lived in his hometown, Quedlinburg, and also Braunschweig and Halberstadt, finally settling in Copenhagen in 1771.
